Prime Minister Sayed By 2023-24, the growth will be 10%

The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her firm conviction to increase the rate of growth to 10 percent by 2023-24. She said that the government works to achieve the target of bringing down the per capita income to the US $ 2,700,000 and lowering the rate of poverty to 4 percent.

But we have prepared and implemented every budget efficiently so that the amount of foreign contribution in the current budget is only 8 percent. We are also implementing the development budget in our own fund.

He said that the biggest budget of 5 million 23 lakh 190 crore taka has been given in the title of our time - Bangladesh, in the journey of prosperity tomorrow. During the last 10 years, there has been unprecedented development across the country, which has been praised at home and abroad.

The Prime Minister said the growth has been 8.8 percent, which is the highest among Asia. According to the International Monetary Fund, the 20 countries that are contributing to the world's growth, Bangladesh is one of them.

Highlighting the development and success of the country for two consecutive terms, the Prime Minister said, Bangladesh is moving ahead from all walks of life. The average life expectancy of the people has been increased from 65 to 72 percent, and the per capita income has increased from 543 to 1 909.

He also said that the poverty rate has decreased from 25 percent to 11 percent in the country, 45 percent of poverty was brought down to 21 percent. Our goal is to reduce the poverty rate to 16-17 in the future.

প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, অতীতের সব সরকারের আমলের বাজেট ছিল বৈদেশিক সাহায্য নির্ভর। উন্নয়ন বাজেটও ছিল বিদেশ নির্ভর। কিন্তু আমরা দক্ষতার সঙ্গে প্রতিবার বাজেট প্রণয়ন ও বাস্তবায়ন করেছি বলেই এবারের বাজেটে বৈদেশিক অনুদানের পরিমাণ মাত্র দশমিক ৮ শতাংশ। আর উন্নয়ন বাজেটও আমরা নিজস্ব অর্থায়নে বাস্তবায়ন করছি।

তিনি বলেন, সমৃদ্ধির আগামীর পথযাত্রায় বাংলাদেশ, সময় এখন আমাদের- শিরোনামে এবার ৫ লাখ ২৩ লাখ ১৯০ কোটি টাকার সর্ববৃহৎ বাজেট দেয়া হয়েছে। গত ১০ বছরে সারাদেশেই অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন হয়েছে, যা দেশে-বিদেশে প্রশংসিত হয়েছে।প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, এবার প্রবৃদ্ধি হয়েছে ৮ দশমিক ১৩ শতাংশ, যা এশিয়ার মধ্যে সর্বোচ্চ।

আন্তর্জাতিক অর্থ তহবিলের হিসাব অনুযায়ী সারাবিশ্বে প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জনে যে ২০টি দেশ অবদান রাখছে, বাংলাদেশ তাদের মধ্যে অন্যতম।

টানা দুই মেয়াদে দেশের উন্নয়ন-সাফল্যের তথ্য তুলে ধরে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, সব দিক থেকে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ। মানুষের গড় আয়ু ৬৫ থেকে ৭২ দশমিক ৮ শতাংশে উন্নীত হয়েছে, মানুষের মাথাপিছু আয় ৫৪৩ থেকে ১ হাজার ৯০৯ মার্কিন ডলারে উন্নীত হয়েছে।

তিনি আরও বলেন, দেশে অতি দরিদ্রের হার ২৫ শতাংশ থেকে ১১ ভাগে নামিয়ে এনেছি, ৪৫ ভাগ দারিদ্র্যকে ২১ ভাগের নিচে নামিয়ে আনতে পেরেছি। আমাদের লক্ষ্য হচ্ছে দরিদ্রের হার আগামীতে ১৬-১৭ ভাগে নামিয়ে আনব।
